Thumbs Up: Pedro Ciriaco Takes Over Twitter
“He is doing everything.”
Those were the words of FOX play-by-play man Joe Buck following Pedro Ciriaco’s stolen third base and run scored thanks to a throwing error by Russell Martin in the seventh inning last night.
The former PawSox infielder finished 4-for-5 with two doubles and four runs batted in against the Yankees (not the ones from Scranton/Wilkes-Barre). His four hits and four RBI were both career highs, and his single in the third inning was his first hit as a Red Sox. Add to all of this seven assists at shortstop.

Ciriaco stole the show last night from everyone, including former Pawtucket teammate Mauro Gomez who went 3-for-4 with two doubles, an RBI, and two runs scored. Gomez has now hit safely in all four games since being recalled on July 3 and is batting .471 (8-for-17) with three doubles, three RBI and two runs.
No surprise, those watching Ciriaco & Company last night took to Twitter. Here are the best tweets about Pedro on what turned out to be the biggest baseball night of his life.
Jenny Dell - NESN (@JennyDellNESN): Ciriaco having a night!! All the folks at #Fenway saying ”Pedro, Pedro, Pedro” chants are ringing around the park.
Gordon Edes - ESPNBoston.com (@GordonEdes): Just a guess, but this has to be the greatest night of Ciriaco’s baseball life. “Pedro, Pedro” chants.

Jared Carrabis – New England Baseball Journal (@Jared_Carrabis): There are five-year-old children in Boston that, sadly, have never seen a #RedSox World Series. The wait is over. Pedro Ciriaco is here.

Red – Red Sox Blogger (@SurvivingGrady): WHO DIED AND MADE YOU PEDRO CIRIACO
