Tazawa Recalled By Boston
The Red Sox announced Sunday that not only have they placed right-handed pitcher Scott Atchison on the 15-day disabled list (retroactive to June 14) due to right forearm tightness, but they have recalled PawSox reliever Junichi Tazawa.
Over his last six appearances (9 2/3 IP), Tazawa had not allowed an earned run while surrendering four hits, walking two, and striking out 16. During that span he is also 2-for-2 in save situations.

Tazawa has appeared in 14 Major League games with Boson over parts of three seasons since being signed by the Red Sox in 2009. (Kelly O’Connor).
Tazawa, 26, begins his second stint with Boston this season. He did not allow a run in five relief appearances with the Red Sox, with four strikeouts, no walks and five hits allowed over 6 1/3 innings from April 18-30.
He leads Triple-A relief qualifiers with an average of 11.91 strikeouts per 9.0 innings (56 K/42 1/3 IP) in 25 relief appearances for the PawSox this season, going 3-2 with four saves and a 2.55 ERA (12 ER).
Tazawa is active for the Red Sox Sunday in Tampa Bay.
