PawSox Roster Moves – July 26, 2012
The big PawSox news of the day revolves around right-handers Brandon Duckworth and Doug Mathis officially signing with Japan. However, the PawSox also have the two following moves just announced before tonight’s game in Indianapolis:
- Righty Nelson Figueroa has been placed on the Temporary Inactive List. (This happens when a player needs to tend to a personal matter but won’t miss enough time to go on the disabled list.)
- Catcher Matt Spring has been assigned to the PawSox from Double-A Portland. Spring, 27, has hit .212 with seven home runs and 18 runs batted in over 49 games with the Sea Dogs this year. The former Tampa Bay farmhand was called-up to Pawtucket earlier in the season and made one start behind home plate before returning to Portland.
