Weekday Webchat: Nate Spears
In our ongoing attempt to connect you with PawSox players during the off-season, this week I’m joined via webcam by former PawSox infielder Nate Spears. A favorite around McCoy, Spears recently signed a minor league free agent contract with Cleveland with an invitation to big league camp.
One of my best memories with Nate came after a game one night in Buffalo. With both of us searching for a late night meal, we ran into each other (of course, Iggy was there too!) in the hotel restaurant and the three of us just talked baseball for over an hour. It’s always a treat to hear smart ballplayers talk about the game.
All the best to Nate and his future with the Indians. He’ll be missed around McCoy.

Do wish him the best. He has always been a pleasure to watch& always good with the kids in the stands waving or asking for autographs. Hope the move works well for him!
